Welcome to all New Civil Air Patrol Cadets and Parents,

We would like to welcome you to the South Sound Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, Washington Wing of the United States Air Force Auxiliary. We believe you have chosen the finest volunteer leadership organization in the world. Your potential is only limited by your desire and ambition.

There are many facets to the Civil Air Patrol and as such, we encourage you to ask questions and visit CAP NHQ website at www.gocivilairpatrol.com. We are here to help the cadets succeed and become future leaders of America.

Upon joining CAP, new cadets receive a Member Kit, which includes educational materials and other resources specially designed for new cadets. You will begin as a Cadet Airman Basic and have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities and learning experiences as you complete the achievements and progress through the ranks up to Cadet Colonel.

As part of joining CAP, it is required by regulations (CAPM 39-1) that the cadets wear an approved Air Force style uniform. Complete uniforms may be ordered at The Hock Shop ( www.thehock.com), Blues uniform cost approx. $125 and BDU cost approx. $90. In order to keep expenses down, we currently have an inventory of uniforms items available. Please check with your assigned mentor for information on the free uniform program. Also, you may purchase uniform items at Vanguard (www.vanguardmil.com) and McChord AFB.

The educational materials, uniforms, training, and activities offered to the Cadets at South Sound Composite Squadron are a value that can not be measured. No matter what their future holds, it will be enriched by the experiences provided through the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.
